Ray Palmer - Chairman and Founder
Ray has specialised in development and investment for 50 years. He became Chief Executive of Lambert Smith Hampton in his early 20’s and remained in this position until 1992 when he established Palmer Capital. Ray is also Chairman of all of the property companies in which Palmer Capital has a shareholding and takes particular responsibility for Palmer Capital’s balance sheet investments. He is both a Board Director and Investment Committee member.
Alex Price - Chief Executive
Alex served as an officer in the British Army before starting his financial career with Credit Lyonnais Securities in 1997. He then completed an MBA at London Business School before joining Sabre Holdings’ European Corporate Finance team. He joined Palmer Capital in 2003, initially charged with creating the fund management business within Palmer Capital. He was promoted to chief executive in 2008 and is a fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Alex covers the Company’s relationship with both existing and future investment partners. He is a member of the Investment Committee.
Nick Cooper - Non-Executive Director
Nick is a chartered surveyor with extensive experience of both direct and indirect real estate. Before joining Palmer Capital, he was a principal and leading member of the Townsend Group living in both the UK and USA. Through his time with Townsend, and previously as CEO of ING Real Estate where he built one of the first UK-based sector-focused businesses, he brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the needs of real estate investors. Nick is a Non-Executive and adviser to the business. His role is to provide strategic support to the investment management activities and to act as co-chairman on the risk and investment committees.
Rupert Sheldon - Director, Head of Income REIM
Rupert qualified as a chartered surveyor at Gooch & Wagstaff Colliers CRE, focusing firstly on agency and then commercial investment. In 1996 he joined Henderson Global Investors where he initially co-managed two UK property funds on behalf of German institutional investors, prior to being appointed fund manager of the £250 million Henderson UK Property Fund. He became a Henderson director in 2003, before leaving in 2005 to join Palmer Capital. Rupert takes particular responsibility for the core and core plus funds and segregated account relationships that operate within the Company. He is a member of the investment Committee.
Chris Button - Director, Head of Value Add REIM
Chris qualified as a chartered surveyor with CB Hillier Parker (now CBRE) before joining PruPIM in 2002. Chris was the lead acquisitions surveyor for the high profile M&G retail investor funds before joining LaSalle Investment Management as acquisitions director for the UK Ventures Fund in 2006. Chris joined Palmer Capital in 2008 and is the Director responsible for the value add funds. Chris focuses on higher return strategies involving planning, development and / or repositioning of assets. He therefore takes portfolio responsibility for the Company’s value add and opportunistic funds, joint ventures and segregated accounts. He is a member of the Investment Committee.
Emma Cullen - Chief Operating Officer
Emma qualified as a lawyer at Frere Cholmeley Bischoff before specialising in real estate at the niche Mayfair property practice, Forsters. In 2000, Emma left private practice to develop her corporate and commercial skills as UK legal counsel to Ascent Media. Emma joined Palmer Capital in 2007 where she now oversees all Company legal and corporate matters and is also responsible for the regulatory and operational side of the business and in particular the firm’s accreditation under AIFMD. She is a member of the firm’s Risk Committee and a Corporate Governance Committee member of AREF.
Charles Allen - Acquisition Director
Charles is the Acquisitions Director who takes primary responsibility for inter-facing with the investment market as a whole. He is the principle contact for agents and others wanting to introduce opportunities to Palmer Capital and takes oversight of all the Company’s acquisitions.
Prior to joining Palmer Capital in 2013, Charles was in the Corporate Finance Real Estate team at Ernst & Young where he focussed on capital raising, M&A and restructuring. Previously Charles was at BNP Paribas Real Estate where he focussed on buying and leasing Central London assets. Charles has an MA from University of Edinburgh and MSc from Oxford Brookes. Charles is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
Steven Wright - Director
Steve joined Palmer Capital in 2006 from Henderson Global Investors (now TH Real Estate) after qualifying at DTZ Debenham Tie Leung (now Cushman & Wakefield). Director level, overseeing assets that are within the value add risk profile business plans, including land promotion, planning, development, refurbishment, lettings, tenant regears and acquisitions / sales. Skills include capital structuring including raising debt. Holder of the IMC certificate and member of the IPF.
Graham Curd - Head of Finance
Graham trained as a Chartered Accountant with Simmons Gainsford LLP, a top 50 West End practice specialising in Real Estate.
Graham progressed to Audit Manager and joined Palmer Capital in 2014 as Group Finance Manager. His primary role was to assist the Chief Financial Officer with the specific responsibility of overseeing all financial aspects of the fund management side of the business.
Graham was promoted to Head of Finance in May 2017.
